I have just spotted a facebook group and a blog, so I will add details of both later. So here is the hat that I made, it was supposed to be smaller but I used the wrong sized hook, so now it's Evie's! It only took around 2 hours in total and I am defiantly going to make many more!

But my creativity didn't stop with these. Faye showed me a link to make a slip cover for a note book. So I set about making one for Jeanette. It took a few attempts to perfect but it was well worth the extra effort as it looks fantastic. I'm not sure I want to give it away! Faye has a lovely selection of fabric for sale so I purchased some from her to make sure this slip cover. The fabric is African wax cotton. This one I liked as it is metallic. I used a pink ribbon to make the book mark and put a removable charm on for weight. The lovely thing about slip covers is that they can come off when the book is finished with.

I used wooden flower beads, red small and medium glass beads and faceted glass beads in blue tones. It is strung on beading wire with silver plated findings. The colours look lush together. After a long period of not doing any jewellery making I popped down to Hobby craft and discovered a whole new range of beads! I felt like a child in a sweet shop. In January I decided that I would be making as many Christmas gifts as possible this year. So the new bead range will definitely help this happen!
sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065233640856779221noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738463069806031531.post-75879680222982007562011-08-07T15:37:00.001+01:002011-08-07T15:37:49.498+01:00Three Blind Mice

Here is my latest project which combines Embroidery and Applique. Neither of which I have ever tried before! Its for Evies bedroom. I saw the project in SEW magazine and there were other ideas to try. which I think I will do as this was a fast and enjoyable project. It has been 8 months since the move, Which seems bizarre. I am extra excited to see them all. I set myself up at the kitchen table with some beading mags and looked for some inspiration and here is an adapted version of one in the magazine. It is slightly different as i didn't have the exact beads or chain size, but i am trying to be frugal. So I'm avoiding craft stores until i have used up some of my masses of beads!

I'm pleased with the outcome, the bracelet looks chunky on your wrist, but not OTT.
