Baby Hat

I fancied a crochet project but needed it to be quick, so I searched YouTube for a baby hat pattern, I came across a video by bobwilson123. I have just spotted a facebook group and a blog, so I will add details of both later. So here is the hat that I made, it was supposed to be smaller but I used the wrong sized hook, so now it's Evie's! It only took around 2 hours in total and I am defiantly going to make many more!

Birthday Presents for my lovely Mummy in law.

This set is made with the new bead range in Hobbycraft, Jeanette pointed them out when we were there the other day "ooooh I like those"  so I bought them. I know she loves wooden beads to so I have incorporated them into the design too.

The handbag charm is one of my favourite things to make, they are quick (which I like because I get bored easily) but very versatile you can make them as elaborate as you like and they still look lovely.

But my creativity didn't stop with these. Faye showed me a link to make a slip cover for a note book. So I set about making one for Jeanette. It took a few attempts to perfect but it was well worth the extra effort as it looks fantastic. I'm not sure I want to give it away! Faye has a lovely selection of fabric for sale so I purchased some from her to make sure this slip cover. The fabric is African wax cotton. This one I liked as it is metallic. I used a pink ribbon to make the book mark and put a removable charm on for weight. The lovely thing about slip covers is that they can come off when the book is finished with.

NEW BEADS

Here is one of my latest bracelets. I used wooden flower beads, red small and medium glass beads and faceted glass beads in blue tones. It is strung on beading wire with silver plated findings. The colours look lush together. After a long period of not doing any jewellery making I popped down to Hobby craft and discovered a whole new range of beads! I felt like a child in a sweet shop. In January I decided that I would be making as many Christmas gifts as possible this year. So the new bead range will definitely help this happen!

Three Blind Mice

Here is my latest project which combines Embroidery and Applique. Neither of which I have ever tried before! My Nan has always been fantastic at embroidery and for many years my Mums and all my Aunties and Uncles house's were filled with hand made embroidered gifts. Not something we see anymore as she now loves card craft!

Its for Evies bedroom. I saw the project in SEW magazine and there were other ideas to try. which I think I will do as this was a fast and enjoyable project. It would make a great gift for a new bundle.

Here are my new toys that I purchased from Ebay this week. All I need now is a giant cutting mat!! Then I can get on with everyone's crimbo presents!!

Bedroom Door Sign

This is Evies bedroom door sign, it was made entirely from scraps! I love the not so perfect stitches and the rough edges. The lettering was pre cut and iron-on purchased from an auction site. This saved lots of time. I love fabric crafts at the mo, so jewellery has taken a back seat for a while. Using fabric to create items is so useful its definitely worth having a go at!
